The Omegaverse is usually considered a subgenre of BL, though it can also appear in straight or GL stories. In this universe, people have not only a gender but also a secondary one — alpha, beta, or omega — each with unique traits and instincts. Betas are basically ordinary humans, while alphas are often portrayed as strong, dominant, and admired, and omegas as rare, emotional, and able to conceive regardless of sex. • youngchan, on the surface, comes off as a big, goofy, giant but knows when to be serious when it matters
• youngchan tries his best to be patient with hyunsoo, and he loses it sometimes, but he never truly gives up on hyunsoo ):

Trauma and abuse are nothing new to the BL genre, but many stories can often gloss over the darker aspects of it or rationalize away the bad for a forced happy ending. These are BL titles that are known for taking these topics seriously. It doesn't mean that there's no happiness in these stories, but rather the characters have to grow and heal from trauma realistically, or otherwise stay in the darkness while the story acknowledges it's bad.

Warning for assault, abuse, death, and pretty much every possible red flag and trauma. Some of these stories are pretty heavy, and there's a mix of good and bad endings.
